If you decide to volunteer for Raman Base, you accept the following terms and conditions:
To join our team as a Raman Base volunteer, we kindly request that you participate in a short online video interview. We will then assess how your skills align with our current needs and inform you of our decision within a few days. While we appreciate your interest, we may not be able to accommodate everyone. We hope for your understanding if we cannot accept your offer of help.
There will be no monetary reward for your service to Raman Base. You can inquire about the possibility of a paid contract-based cooperation, but it may not be available due to our limited budget.
Since your cooperation is voluntary, you can end the cooperation at any time. However, if you decide to finish your cooperation, we kindly ask you to notify us as soon as possible.
There are weekly online meetings of the Raman Base team, you are kindly asked to attend in order to help us effectively coordinate and distribute the work on Raman Base development.
You will be closely cooperating with the senior Raman Base staff who will consult your ideas with you and provide assignments based on your preferences and expertise. However, please understand that the development of Raman Base has its priorities and you may be asked to attend to urgent tasks first.
You are expected to follow instructions given to you by the senior Raman Base staff. We will always give you as much free rein as possible, and all your ideas and arguments will be heard and carefully discussed. However, regarding the final form of your contribution, the senior Raman Base staff always has the final word. Therefore, please accept that you may be asked to modify your contribution accordingly.
You will be provided with access to the Raman Base code by the senior Raman Base software engineer. You are not allowed to provide access to Raman Base code to any other person or entity.
You are allowed to change only the part of Raman Base code necessary to do the work assigned to you. If you are not sure whether you may change something, please, ask first and act later.
You are expected not to share or disseminate the code of Raman Base or its parts by any means, unless you are the author of that part. If you have a valid reason to share some part of the code that you didn’t create yourself, please, ask its author and the senior Raman Base staff for written permission, and your request will be considered. While we are willing to share, some parts of the code are earmarked for scientific publications and therefore cannot be released prematurely.
By the law of authorship, you own the parts of the code that you wrote, which includes the right to remove your code from Raman Base. However, by volunteering for Raman Base, you give Raman Base permission to use your code without compensation for as long as it is needed. If you, as a volunteer, retroactively demand a monetary compensation for your code, we may instruct you to remove it and leave.
In case you are found to willfully neglect the terms and conditions and/or harm Raman Base or its reputation, you will be dismissed with immediate effect, you will be barred from accessing Raman Base code, your registration to Raman Base will be revoked, and you will lose the privileges (below).
If you decide to volunteer for Raman Base, you accept the following terms and conditions:
You have the right to be acknowledged on the Raman Base web pages in the section “Team Members”, subsection “Volunteers”. You can also supply a representative photo, which will be shown along with your name, academic titles, and area of expertise. The acknowledgement will remain indefinitely even after you leave the team, in a subsection dedicated to ex-contributors.
Conversely, if you wish, you have the right to remain anonymous; there will be no mention of you on the Raman Base web pages or in other public documents regarding Raman Base.
If you contribute significantly, you have the right to be a co-author of scientific publications about Raman Base.
Upon request, we will provide a certificate that you volunteered for an academic project

Raman Base Volunteer Program Terms and Conditions are subject to revision and modification as deemed necessary by the senior Raman Base staff. All volunteers will be notified about the updates.
